Map Battle #2 Theme : Halloween
Since it is October, and my birthday is on the 30th, we are doing a Halloween Themed Battle.
Rules:
Due Date: This battle will end on Nov.2nd, 2012. You must have 3 ingame screen shots of your map, and have the supplied template visible within those screen shots. More Information: This does not have to be a playable map, nor does it have to be optimized at all, it is up to you how far you take it. You are allowed THREE FINAL SCREEN SHOTS. You are allowed to post as many WIP as you wish. Please label your files as such 'username_wip/final_number' highest resolution as you can get, max settings. So, if you are submitting a wip screen it would be 'rice_wip_1'.

someone needs to light a fire under my ass. I get all excited about this shit, but when I get time to work on things I open up hammer and sit.... and sit... then close it and play FF or Xonotic.
Maybe I have mappers block? I dunno. |

I'm in the middle of making a map that's coming along fairly well imo. As a general rule all an FF map needs to be good is ramps. So maybe start off just building a ramp? That's what I did.
But in all seriousness, sometimes if you just make the first hurdle, it's starts to just flow to you. Even if you don't know what to make, just put a block down somewhere. I also use music a lot as a creative stimulant. Any kind will do, what ever floats your boat, but classical music is supposed to really do wonders for the brain, according to science or something. I listen to that sometimes, but like I said any kind will do. I'm not making it for this map battle though. I don't want silly ass pumpkins in my map. :/ |
