deathadder is the most comfortable mouse I've ever used.. with that said I avoid razer stuff in general now.
It's not that its flimsy, or overly cheap really - the teflon pads fell of my mouse in a matter of weeks. I continued to use it till the screw holes started to catch. then the mouse wheel broke. kinda poor construction/quality. big picture sry, click da link so your browser resizes http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23493612/DSCI0020.JPG

If your thinking on getting Battelfield 3, its a must to have a mouse with a button to change mouse sensitivity, to increase the sensitivity while driving tanks etc.

I'm looking for a new mouse and mousepad too. It started out with a mousepad, but I might as well just go all the way. I'm interested in glass surfaces like Icemat (which seems to have vanished from SteelSeries' website). Are they any good?

Since people are covering mouse pads in this thread now, I'm looking to buy one, currently I have the underside of a piece of sandpaper celotaped to my desk which is quite smooth and nice.
But you know, it's not exactly a mouse pad... I want one great for speed and precision, for a laser mouse with plastic feet, I've heard metal mouse pads work the best for gliding across. Like I want something where if I put my mouse at one side of it, and flick my mouse, it will slide to the other side effortlessly. I'm on a fairly low budged too :/, wouldn't want to spend more than £10/$16 on one. Medium size, atleast 30cm long, 25cm wide. HALP!

Right now, I'm using a Logitech laser mouse. I go wireless, and have no problems. I get plenty of warning on low battery, because a message pops up on my screen weeks before the battery dies.
Honestly, the best one I've ever used was one I bought in Germany. Vivanco was the name, and I cried when it crapped out on me.

I've had a Logitech MX1000 laser cordless for the last 5 ish years. Best mouse i've ever had and it's still going. I'd recomend spending on a good one as they do last.
http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/mice-p...e/devices/7244 This looks good although battery life is reported as being bad. You can attach a cord though. |

Sorry for late reply regarding my G5.
Quote:
I think one lasted about a year then another lasted only a few months and then yet another only about 5/6 months IIRC. With two of the mice (I threw one away for some reason) I tried snipping down the cable and reattaching it inside. Problem with doing this is you have to be very careful pealing off the skate pads to get at the screws - skate pads deteriorate badly/quickly after this. Which is the main reason I need a new mouse. It worked on both mice and then one broken again after only a month in a new point near the mouse *yawn* They're good mice with shit cables - end of.

I've never used a mousepad prior to the steelseries one (mainly because I really needed one for this mouse, it didn't track well on my desk). I really really enjoy it and my mouse performs so well on it I really recommend getting one of them whether it be a regular sized or huge one.

I've been using my Logitech MX500 for about 10-11 years now, and this thing is awesome.
I've spilled, Water, milk, varieties of juice, alcohol, on it, I've even accidently set it on fire and melted a bit of the right side of it. And the thing still works like a hot damn. This thing is seriously going to outlive me. |
