I'm not sure how scripting stuff like this goes in FF, but in TFC when you right a script and execute it, you can't perform any other actions until the script is finished.
Meaning, if you write a script that will make you jump after the figured out time the 3 beeps are, you can't move forward, you can't look left or right, you can't bhop, not until the script is over ie: prime wait;wait;wait;wait;wait +jump wait -jump. The only time you'd get movement is if you wrote the movement's into the script like "toggleone; +forward; +jump; -jump; + jump; -jump; +jump;-jump;-forward" But again all you're getting is a straight run forward with jumps inbetween, you wouldn't be able to strike any other key on the keyboard until it's complete. Plus on a side note, your lag per server would effect the script as well, so you'll find you'll have to edit your ;waits as per lag per server. Like the fellows above me have stated, it's more of a feeling thing, there's too much to compensate for that a script can't do. What if you're lagging? What if you get a lag spike? what if someone shoots you and you pop off in another direction, what if your target has been relocated (ie: flag's been pushed forward, you alter your jump for best results to the new target). What if you're coming up to an enemy and instead of concing by him, you release the conc behind him to knock him out of the way. The list is endless, there's waaay too many possibilities in game to make scripting your conc jumps any bit usefull. The only time scripting the jumps has worked (in my experience anyways), is back in TFC I scripted a double jump for conc maps, for say concmap_r's longjump (I'm sure some people know what jump i'm talking about). Where my script would throw my first conc on the ground, prime a 2nd insanely fast, take 3 steps forward, jump, duck, and have my 2nd go off in the air as a HH perfectly. Depending on lag, the script worked about 80% of the time. But that's the only use I ever found for scripting conc jumping. I did dabble with juggling, but that was soo lag sensitive it only worked on a self created game with 0 ping. That was the case in TFC, but since it was, I never bothered to try scripting anything like this in FF. Please correct me if I'm wrong though, I'd hate to remain ignorant on the subject. |

nope...your right since the commands are being sent to the server, you have to wait for them to finish before your command you enter is executed...think of it like the waiting in line.
If command "a; b; c; d; e; f; g; h; and i" show up before your command j then you have to wait for abcdefghi to happen before j can.

I made a conc jump script for TFC, it involved around 75 wait commands. There were a few problems tho
- It was FPS related, so the lower your FPS, the longer the commands took to execute. You had to get around this by setting max fps 30 (or some such) - ANy button you were holding when you set the script going, you can't unpress (and you can't press any more buttons when it's going). This means you have to press forwards and run forwards in a straight line for the whole duration of the conc (including no strafing or bhopping). - You can't change the height / speed of the conc unless you have multiple scripts to run, and even then, you have to decide what type of conc to try from the start. So yeah it wasn't really useful. It could conc to the well FR from the floor pretty reliably though. I'd imagine something similar is possible in FF and probably useless for the same reasons. That said, if you want some easy concing practice (air control / skimming practice), just don't jump at the end of the conc and perform the default low auto-conc. |

If you want any sort of reliable script that involves a few seconds of time, you should just use a third-party scripting program that records all of your mouse movement and key pressing. Then just record a perfect conc and hit a hotkey for later use.

if you have a pet then just train him/her to do perfect concs and stuff on demand. i have trained my pet cow to do very good conc jumps, and my pet avocado plant is most impressive with blue pipes. it works well most of the time, but the big problem is switching seats takes time: cow especially takes so long to get comfy that it's often too late

I use this in TFC for concing. It works flawless for me. I haven't tried it on FF yet. I just polished this up last night. Needed many more waits than expected.
Before you say "this doesn't work!!" CREATE SERVER on your home computer and try it out on TFC. Then try it out on FF. conc_script.cfg Quote:

If you make it so that it automatically jumps, then you will always be jumping at the same time whenever you conc.
This will force your concs to be less effective and a lot less controlled, because you'll always jump at the same time. You won't be able to conc for distance or for height whenever you wanted, but instead, you will always conc the same.

lol wow way to dig this one up!
I still think you should just practice more...concing just isn't something that can be scripted to work

I dug this up through SEARCH, looking for scripts here. I agree that concing without scripts is the only way to get the most out of concs. You have to time it yourself at what angle and how far you want to go. There are some things you just can't get a script to do. |

Necro round 2.
I figured I'd post here rather than start a new topic. I can ace conc_school now but I am completely befuddled when I get to the bonus juggle section. How do you manage your concs once you're in the air? Do you throw one higher then prime another, or just time it perfectly with a handheld? Any help is appreciated. |

Someone better at conc maps can probably give a better answer, but what works for me is throwing a conc straight under you a tiny bit after you start falling back down. Use a double or triple conc to get enough height to start the juggle. Juggling facing a wall helps position the conc under you, and concs have no friction so they will continue to fall at the same speed if they hit a wall.

This is kind of hard to explain. As you are in the air at the peak of your jump(from the double conc jump) that is when you let go (that is if you primed while going up) of the next conc underneath you.

I do that, but the conc doesn't give me enough lift so I start falling before the next primed conc is ready to detonate.

Then you need to throw the conc a bit earlier, giving you more distance from it when it explodes and hence a bigger boost. It takes some practice, and the timing is slightly unforgiving. Also, just throw your conc whenever you start falling back down again. You and the conc will fall at roughly the same speed, and you will get boosted back up. Don't worry about when the gren will explode, the throw timing is what really matters for vertical juggling.
