Add me if you want, name is FreaK377.
Going to bash it all night and over the next week, and if it's a game I can see myself playing a lot in the future, I'll buy 800 Tribes Gold. Which I will use to unlock two classes. Maybe Pathfinder and Brute or something, I'll have a debate with myself Mainly using Soldier now though, they've done a good job making it a good balanced class. It will take a long time unboosted to get lots of tokens though, like it was without a boost or Elite status in Global Agenda... pretty much got the same system like I guessed. The boost prices aren't very appealing though for what you get.

So seeing how effective they can be, I want to master a heavy class for defense along with the Soldier and another medium/light class. So I have some variety (like changing class in FF to be better at attacking or defending), weapon wise I like the Juggernaut best, which happens to be one of the cheaper classes to purchase, the Motar and most importantly the Spinfusor are both useful. The Brute was appealing until I tried out the Automatic Shotgun in training, which is a weapon I can't see myself using very often or very well. Not sure on the Doombringer, I prefer splash damage. As another class I'm looking at the Raider, Sentinel or Scrambler as possibilities. Hard to decide which one.

I didnt like jug at first. but I've been playing it a lot and got everything unlocked and now its probably my favorite. i got some midair mortars even! the nades after getting the nade range unlock are obnoxiously good on that map with the two floating ships for bases. as are brutes grenades asdf

T:A is "all right". I personally wouldn't give it a higher rating than that. It's so freaking hard to hit people that gun fights last like 1 or 2 minutes. Skiing is a lot of fun and does require skill to keep the momentum, but as for the actual gun fights is kind of "meh". I couldn't imagine playing it for 6 or 7 hours straight. Within 1 hour I'm bored as hell, its kind of repetative imo. Hell, I think I would like it better if it was just skiing, no gun fights, and you had to skii through an obstacle course.
But I do play it sometimes so add me anyway, lol. Name on there is Trailer.

Nah trailer. It's not very hard to hit people. You gotta play around with the projectile guns for a while to get the hang of them. But once you get your spinfusor down you can take someone out in seconds. It's just about leading right and timing your positioning and when you shoot. I've been having a lot of fun with it. I'm not quite a fan of the really lofty movement and gameplay. But all around it's pretty fun.
Also I think air spinfusors might be the most rewarding mid airs I've ever gotten. |

I'll still gonna play it here and there, give ctf a better shot because TDM is awful imo for Tribes.

Tribes was all about the CTF. Other (interesting) modes were rabbit (especially lakrabbit, where you can only kill the flag carrier by landing mid-airs on him), siege (where you had to assault a base, usually going uphill or while skydiving or crazy shit like that), TDM is meh...some community driven modes like shrike wars, havoc wars, etc.
T:A is shaping up well. I was apprehensive, now I'm fairly happy with it. Could be better, but hey, so far so good. Also, yell if you need a key.

It's shaping up well, just keep participating on the Private Tribes Ascend forums, give feedback and comment on threads dealing with popular problems. Such as the weak jetpacks, the Motar being crap and various other things, they monitor and interact on the forums and the more people who back an idea, the more likely it will be considered, popular demand. Also keep checking your emails for a survey, they consider Surveys to be the most influential feedback.
Hopefully they'll listen to people and the game will be tweaked accordingly until it is nicely balanced. As it is though, it has all of the makings of a brilliant game that could be popular for many years.

I just joined a competitive team and let me tell you it's in a whole league of its own skill wise. We're scrimmed three different teams so far and lost two out of three. The last was a tie as people had to go to sleep after the second game. Holy hell this reminds me of way back in TFC first getting in league play.
Here's the scoreboard of the final game. Was such an epic game and went into overtime with a 6 minute flag standoff before we were able to force the return and capture it.

TA had the highest peak players of any other tribes... when steam came out. It's declining now but still quite popular.
