Pickup poll

It's been explained to me that many of the balance changes for FF start making sense if you primarily look at pickup games. I'm curious what the divide is on that, so I made this poll.

EDIT: If you don't play FF as much as you'd like, select which option would be representative of you if you could. So if you only play 2 games of FF in a month, but both those games are pickups, don't select "sometimes" or "rarely", but "yes."

*edit* thus not including many regular but casual pubbers + a good few pickup players that don't ever check these forums. Not sure how it'd swing the result.

Well yeah, that's true of any poll made on the forums. I was just curious what people were putting. Besides I think the FF playerbase is small enough now that a good chunk of what's left may also be involved on the forums.

Those are just two answers where the results are the same. If you don't know what a pickup is, you've never played one.

I dont play pickups often but I play pickups more than I play pub.

I suppose, but I was interested in people's intentions too. I imagine some people only play pub games when there are no pickup games available. So even though they would play it 100% if they could, the reality might be 15-20%, etc.

It's still a bit early to call the results, but I think it is revealing that the majority of posters have played pickups, with about half of them preferring it. This explains a lot to me. I personally feel like many of the balance changes for the game are insane, but I'm also in the minority here. The fact that I don't play pickups may explain this, since it looks like the majority does. My guess is the gameplay changes are made primarily with pickups in mind, then everything else trickles down to other game modes.

personally I don't play many pickups. however I would love to play on clanstyle servers 24/7 (like the old burstfire servers in tfc)

Pickup community sucks. If there were less faggots, I'm sure the pickup community would be larger, but that is not the case.
