Actually, NJ is not a right-to-carry state, so I can not "pack", as it were.

I live in the nice part of town, though, so no biggie. Most of the bad shit happens in the Northern part of town n' shit, I live in the Eastern Part where it is all shiny and safe.

Well obviously they do not intend to do the entire world or something... it would be a bit nuts to do it.

All in all something like this would be useful... and remember, you can already access public satellite maps and get a good view of anything down to 3 feet so long as it is statis, so.

For example, this page shows all of the areas in America that have Streetview available at the moment:

As you can see, only very limited areas in 5 cities have anything. I presume it will grow gradually over time.

Probably not... I mean, buildings for the most part are pretty static, especially the big ones you would care about like convention centers, stadiums, etc.

All they did was take one of those 360 degree photos at intervals and then code software to bring up the photos in relation to the map. Making it realtime would be extremely difficult and expensive for something that is ultimately a free service, ya know?
