we celebrate the year 2k because BC doesnt mean "before common era" ... it means Before Christ and the acronym AD for "anno domini" means "in the year of our lord"... this is related to the religion debate and the irrational behind the forming of Y2k and the celebrating of it worldwide being like celebrating stupidity itself.

back on topic: I should have clarified my illegals claim... what I mean is all the children born to migrants while on US soil, many are undocumented even though theyre legaly US citizens... and many more go undocumented in southern states because some ppl dont bother entering the federal system.

Back off topic: BC refers to Before Christ, BCE refers to Before the Common Era. Similarily, AD means anno domini, while CE refers to the Common Era.

The book i read a while back was saying that theoretically we are going to be standing shoulder to shoulder on the surface of the earth in 200 years with our current birth rate and current increase in birth rate, assuming we dont kill eachother, which isnt a very correct assumption.

I suspect by 200 years from now we'll colonize the moon and the inhabitable parts of Mars... different countries already partitioned out the land on Mars, ironicaly... cross your fingers some meteor doesnt kill us off first and global warming doesnt reduce more land mass and finaly send us into another ice age..
