Is there an chance in hell that we can just play this game already? I have been waiting for over a year and 4 months to see something, and now I hear they are redoing some of the models for weapons before releasing it. WTF?

It isn't going to be perfect when you release it, ok? There will always be complaints. So many mods release through betas, and I can't see the reason you would be redoing weapon models or making aesthetic changes now which are so very easy to do in updates. We just want to play, so please, we don't care if it is 100% when we get it. 80%-85% will be fine, and we will download the updates.

For god's sake can we get some answer on this?

I'm willing to bet ($5) that they're only bothering to rework models because something else (like, say, the endless bug hunt) is holding them up. Given the choice between a) tweaking the RPG's first-person model's underside texture, and b) releasing the game, they'd likely choose b). I mean, really.

We don't need a buggy release! Let them finish it and get it right so we don't have a version 1.0 release and updated to 1.5 within a few months to fix stupid shit.

Get used to the wait. They want to do it right. Take ES for example, they just released Saturday and I've yet to get more than one full game out of it without the server crashing. Its got an awesome base for gameplay but the combat is jerky, especially near the hangars. Still, its fun as hell, but I'd rather wait a little longer while they do more testing.
