Screenshots!
1st post, I'll make it appropriately njubish WHAT I WANT IS SCREENSHOTS. Also my fecking registration email is taking an age to arrive and, understandably, I couldn't risk someone else making the first post!
Seriously, someone on the uktfl forum mentioned a screenshot of a new openfire. Are there any? FEED ME! FEED ME NOW! |

Glad to see that a team has eventually decided to take the initiative and go ahead with developing an independent tfc mod. And one with so many recognisable names and talent. It's about time really! Saying that, I think this has been in the works for quite some time? Anyway I wish you all the best of luck.
Most of us have been waiting for HL2 and obviously a TFC2 for quite a while now. There's going to be a hell of alot of people wanting to know thats going on and how it's developing! Not sure if you're wanting to discuss every single aspect of the mod through its development, but it'd be great if we could get some v.regular updates. Anything at all, avi's, screenshots, what's currently being worked on etc. Stating the obvious! Anyway, if there is anything to tease us with, feel free.. |

Rog, the "new openfire" screenshots are probably these:
http://www.rit.edu/~jsl6906/ofire_dc/ A guy called Black Hand posted those on catacombs, and from what I've understood, he's not related to fortress-forever development team. Taken from his post: "I realize the concern for the detail affecting the gameplay, the reason I have added the extra stuff (trees/palettes/barrels/whatever) is because I am first releasing the map for cs:s, just to get it out there. When (if) tfc:s happens I can easily remove these things." |

Those openfire screenshots aren't ours. We'll likely be converting openfire, but we aren't at the stage where we can put out screenshots of our version yet

The actual team was assembled about a year ago (when we actually thought that HL2 was to be released imminently!). While we waited for HL2 we bounced quite a few ideas around about what we wanted to achieve and the direction we wanted to take the game.
With the postponement things dried up. We were ready to get into coding / mapping / designing etc but without HL2 and SDK it was impossible. With HL2 out we can finally get started! |

Altho n1 for the guy to make a ofire update, i think that a better version could be done. The look of the map just isnt fortress at all, also the style of it is too blocklike imo

I find it interesting that XSI is being used for game development now, used to be a heavy application for movies only, will you be using that as well? |
