Help on Installation

So i have Hl2dm and hl2 lost cost. Only hl2dm is installed, i installed FF and everything went well i try to play the game nothing happens. I looked on the forums for a bit and hear talk about source sdk do i need that for it too work?

Yes you have to have source SDK Base installed.

Thx For the quick response now i found out the 1 u get for free from that promotion deal doesnt come with the source sdk and even though its only 5 bucks i wondered since i had a css package that got voided due to creditcard bills not being payed if i could install hl2dm with that and have the source sdk

If you pay for a game from valve on the hl2/ep1 engine you should get sdk base with it. hl2 or hl2dm I believe is the cheapest.
