U sure it's not a problem with Firefox?
kidding... Maybe they're already installed? U checked your add/remove programs to compare windows hotfixes and what they include? |

Ya, putting SP3 on a fresh install is a bitch.
Uninstall SP3. Update. Install all the updates you can. Update and install SP3. |

I used to have this problem with some updates just months back. Go to custom install and make sure they're not important, like security patches for Microsoft Office crap. If they're... not important, then just uncheck them all, OK, then check the option that make it to where it won't inform you of them again.

I get this problem not directly from SP3, but when the automatic updates is running in the background, and I go to the window's update page and the updates are both simultaneously being downloaded.
I think it was kev who had this problem earlier too (can't remember), and it's not exactly an easy fix if it's the same problem. That's why on a fresh install I'll always set automatic updates to off until I'm fully done updating the computer, then I'll turn it on. |

so, whats the remedey for this? There's some "critical windows XP Security" patches, according to M$, which will not install. is there like another place i could get it, like download an .exe, and run it like that? Is that legal? |
