FF same old same old.
I just played Fortress Forever today, and usually I play Team Fortress 2. Fortress Forever gives me a more realistic feel to it than TF2. But FF is too easy. I don't know maybe I was playing, with dumb people? On one map I sat in a window the whole time shooting the opposing team with my fire bomb launcher as they came up this elevator from their spawn, no one took time to notice why they were on fire or why they've just been blown up. One thing I know for sure, is Sentry guns are R ET A R D E D...0.o... The whole experience I played my first time through, No sentry gun could stop me no matter what class I played. I died once, over a period of 2 hours, 2 maps.
Other than that, I feel the game definately needs improvment except for its looks, the game looks great. All in all the game feels more like TFC to me with some minor improvements except the sentry gun. Team Fortress 2 on the other hand, doesn't even feel like TFC at all IMO. |

Hmm, you can't really judge the level of skill needed based on pubbing my friend.
I invite you to come play #FF.Pickup on Gamesurge ( direct connect: http://irc.ffschool.org ) for a whole different experience. It won't be easy I promise you , but we welcome anyone so everyone gets the chance to get better. C ya soon.

Thanks for the input Lasher13 We welcome new players input and would love to hear your idea/s for improvement of the mod.
Please feel free to post any improvements or suggestions you might for the mod in our Community --> Ideas and Suggestions forum. In regards to your first experience playing FF we are sad that it was not up to your liking. As Gator mentioned if you are experienced player then playing in a public server probably wouldn't be much fun. Definitely participate in a few pickups for a much better feel for the game. If you like competitive play and find out you actually enjoy FF then I would recommend joining one of the active Ff clans that participate in league play. Most of the clan's welcome new more serious players into their competitive divisions. We hope to hear more from you in regards to what you think of the game after playing it a little more. Frag On ....

Well Gator that pickup stuff sounds fun, the admins job sounds like its really fun, but I just like to join servers that I see on my server list, you know whenvever I feel like playing, well maybe another time. Not saying I'm extremely skilled either, pubbing you are right there, Skilled pubbing, YES.

Allow me to further the recommendation of pickup play. Pickups are really where the best of the best play, but this really shouldn't discourage any new player from playing in them. We usually play captain games where players are picked one after another to ensure the fairest fit.
It's a ton of fun, even if it can sometimes be a bit frustrating. You may have to wait around a bit for a game to start as the pickup community fluctuates a bit, but there's always a group of about 6-8 players ready to play from about 5:00 PM EST to 3:00 AM EST. Those small numbers are really where the game plays best as it mimics the fuller 6v/7v and 8v/9v formats that the game plays best at without having to actually have the large numbers required for play. See, one of the things I like about TF2 is that the maps are made in such a way where the action is funneled towards the objectives, resulting in completion of the objectives. CTF pub play in both TF2 and FF are about the same. Nobody is ever doing the objectives. It's always yard DM'ng. Pickups eliminate this and put the focus on the objectives. It really is a lot of fun.

Ok, joking. No for real, there's plenty of good players in FF. I prefer playing late (I live in Europe, so I have to play in the middle of the night just to play with some good and fun people, there's 90% americans for some weird reason, but tbh I think they are better When, and where did you play btw? Do as Gator said, join a pickup. If you feel after trying FF once - that it's too easy, maybe pickups is the right choice? I would give it some time tho but maybe you're a FF-god who knows |

FF is too easy because you played with new players on pubs? Do what the guys suggested before you make that judgement final.
What sets TF2 apart from "same old same old"? To me Team Fortress minus TF2 is set apart from the same old same old. That is why I'm still playing today.

Lasher, maybe no one was trying to kill you? If you were in your base and just setting folks ablaze, it's quite possible that they just shruged it off and kept on their objective of getting your flag.

only way you could last 2 maps with out dieing a single time is if the server was empty or you were afk.
even in the noobest of noob pubs. plus theres always some regulars playing who could easily kill you. maybe you sat on flag as D soldier? we all know how few times they die. and as to your pyro comment, who cares? what does that prove? chances are, they were like "oh look pathetic pyro sitting around setting people on fire.. zzz" why would you expect them to chase? plus its not like its fun to fight a pyro, even if you know you can win. id let you sit up there too. anyway play some more, cause you clearly havent had a good taste of FF yet |

Because high k/d ratios are the judgement of skill in Fortress Forever.
Hint: they're not. |
