Blocksite firefox extension rocks

Hi all,

If you guys use a firefox extension called no-script, you probably have been annoyed by noscript when it updates, and forces your browser to load their homepage (+1 their bullshit hit counter).

Well, i found another nice extension called Blocksite:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3145

You can have the no-script site on your blacklist, so it cannot ever load the no-script homepage again.

Dont worry though... it does not block the plugins from auto-updating, so no-script will still operate the same as always, it just will not hijack your browsers homepage every time it updates

Why would you want to use no-script? It's a bigger pain in the ass then it's worth.

Quite simple... I block java scripts in every browser I use for casual browsing. No-script puts a nice button on my status bar , so I can enable script when I trust the site, without going into the firefox preferences.

It also lets me permanently trust a site, so I do not have to tweak anything at all with trusted sites.

I use another nice extension along side no-script called Cookiesafe, which does about the exact same thing, only it does not load their homepage every time I update.

i really like firefox, how we can pretty much build our own custom browser with the extensions.
Firefox + Cookiesafe +ADblock+ no-script + mouse gestures+ blocksite = Awesome bulletproof browser

1) I can't get hit by a drive-by attack.

2) Working in tandem with Adblock, I get 1 pop up once every month or so?

3) You know that retarded Rickroll site that bounces the screen around? I am invulnerable.

Rarely - very very rarely, but yes. If I only visited the same sites every time I wouldn't, but I usually go to check out one of those "clip a day" sites and something manages to slip through. Usually adultfriendfinder since all of those "We're gonna load up tons of videos of college kids doing stupid shit" sites have advertising by them.

get Adblock, and rightclick on a friend finder ad, and when it shows the address delete everything but the domain name, and add an * in front and behind it...

So if I wanted to block this site, i would change the address from this:

http://www.fortress-forever.com/foru...reply&p=401998

to this
*fortress-forever.com*

the * is called a wildcard sometimes... it means any charictors before or after fortress forever.

When you do this you blacklist anything from the advertiser domain.
When I first get adblock, I add *doubleclick.net* and *adsense.com* right at first, to eliminate about 50% of the ads i see.
