Fortress Forever Hodgepodge

New Talent - cheney

Our search for a Map Texture Artist has been at least partially fulfulled. Please give a hearty welcome to cheney, the newest addition to the FF team. He's quite talented and is a nice guy in general! And the FF mappers rejoiced.

Developer Journals

Just a friendly reminder to check the Developer Journals if you're interested to see what we're working on and completing. The jolly FF dev team members are more consistently providing this sort of information, so visit frequently to get some satisfaction between media releases.

With All This Rain...

With all this rain we've been getting, our canals are nearly overflowing. The trepids tell me there's still some room for the water to rise, but if you don't trust them (and I know I sure don't) take a look for yourself:

Map: cz2

Demo what?

dr_nick and rebo have an interesting relationship, but their efforts produce fruitful results. They need one another, as shown in the following dialog:

dr_nick: rebo, this reminds me of the time you tried to drill a hole through your head. Remember that?
rebo: That would have worked if you hadn't stopped me.

As a result of dr_nick keeping rebo's head intact... here we have a quick and agile creator of massive explosions and devastation. I'm not talking about rebo, anymore; I'm talking about everyone's favorite demolition man:

Is the Demo holding the mirv just for looks or will this be something we are going to actually see? That is a mirv right?

Its looking good. I'd almost think the same concept artist is the modeler. Rebo and Dr Nick go together like sex and pancakes. Yummm

It's just a pose. Actual gren-throwing mechanics will be like TFC.

with a decent team cz2 is definitely one of the best maps around. getting a spy to open the enemy doors so you can enter as demo and blow their command center is as rare as fun.

TFC has no gren-throwing mechanics :P

Players 'birth' grenades from their belly button. Muahahaha. A pal of mine who is a CS freak always commented on how daft it was but I told him TFC wouldn't be TFC without it. Plus ability to prime and shoot at same time is much more fun and frentic then say CS or even HL1 & 2 DM's laborious 'equipt and throw'.

Anyways. Excellent work chaps. Lovely to see such a big dev team actually working well together and geling as a team.

I expect lovely stuff over the summer. Keep it up!

of course, the best of all possible worlds would be, if each player actually had a seperate animation for firing with one hand while throwing a grenade.

but that is quite a bit to ask

WOW! No further comment

Well maybe just one, Rebo you might want to broaden the space between the demos grenade belt support straps or whatever it's meant to be. Otherwise the bomblogo won't fit or will be to small
