How many of you tried 1.0, hated, and then came back with 2.0 loved it?

I played since 1.0, and it was still awesome back then. |

I loved it back then, think 2.0 made it a little more noob friendly though which is good.

Not me. I hated 1.0, quit, skipped 1.11, and came back for 2.0 and still hated it, only now, less bugs just more noob friendly. I hate noob friendly games!

how the hell is 2.0 even remotely noob friendly? They added a jumppad and a new dynamic for the HW. Wow, real newb friendly.

The only newb friendly thing about FF is the loading screen giving an overview of the map, and the hint centre. And they were there back in 1.0.
So 2.0 is as newb friendly as 1.0. |

I didn't like 1.0 and 1.11 so much, but 2.0 made some big improvements with certain aspects of the game.
To get me playing more frequently (some aspects of 2.0 annoy me), there needs to be a few more tweaks (which may just come with the next patch). |

I've played all of them. I'm still not satisfied but the game is making progress. I want custom model sizes. It is now easier to tell classes apart in 2.0 and I like that. Valve did a great job with model sizes. FF needs this too. There isn't much appeal when everyone is nothing but a bunch of "rectangles" running around. The gameplay is there but the visuals aren't up to par. I still enjoy playing though. Its hard to find servers that aren't running custom maps out the ass. I don't like downloading poor custom maps just so I can play with you guys.

Lol, bunny hopping is, put simply, constant jumping; Quake 1, 2 and 3 each have bunny hopping and each have the jumping queuing system, therefore Fortress Forever's bunny hopping is as newb-friendly as Quake's.
