Outdoor lighting.

Well a friend of mine has just got the source SDK, and using my knowledge of hammer 3.4 I'm teaching him a bit about mapping.

Unfortunately I don't know all that much about the source worldcraft - and I was wondering if any of you guys could help me with the outdoor lighting , because it doesn't seem to work like it does in the old worldcraft.

Thanks.

Haha that would be true.
We seemed to be having trouble with the outdoor lighting....the ground was pitch black - and I'm not very learned with the new worldcraft.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the links and advice everyone and I'm sure I'll sort it out.

some good lighting tutorials

i find snarkpit like the verc forums, i dont like either very much
too unorganised and not enough information on advanced mapping

http://www.interlopers.net/index.php?page=hl2.htm

has some good tuts as well
