Only if you report it!
When I quit, I'd rather sell it and get some money back for the time invested. Wish I'd done that with my UO account when it was still worth $500, lol. |

I know several people that sold off their end-level accounts. All of them turned around and re-bought the game within a month or tow of selling. They said they broke even and might as well start over again.
I'll buy it for 25 cents. |

My aunt sold her EQ account for a couple hundred bucks way back in the day. It was sad . She was crying. That was a lot of time spent, a lot of good memories, and a lot of fun being sold.
The person who got it was some dudes wife who probably didn't give two shits about the game. BUT that was back when EQ was starting to die (post Velious) and the fun was starting to leave and turn in to grind. And then we moved to EQ2 a few years later .

For the time, EQ was amazing. EQ2, however, is a vastly superior game. The only thing it lacks is the "FIRST MMO NOSTALGIA" that many had with it. Since UO was my first MMO, that game has the "NONE CAN TOUCH THIS GAME AND A UO2 WILL BE BAD" mentality.

Every once in a great while I get an urge to reupp my UO account. So I start a trial, play it for a bit and see that the land is empty. Hurts the ol' heart it does, I remember when all the banks in all the cities had so many people you couldn't play, lol. |

This. Only its every 4-6 months for me. I've even tried PServers, attempting to at least get the gameplay I was used to back in the day, but the lack of a population/social aspect kills it.
Vendor sell the guards a bank. |

What's funny is that there were probably hundreds of people playing at the time I was (I'd see names run across the edge of my screen when I was in Malas and the new samurai lands) but there is no need to go to town anymore. They don't even hit up the dungeons it seems. Checked out all the popular spots, liches, dragons, demons, found a few people at Despise but that was it.
They'd probably consolidate the servers if they wouldn't lose thousands of customers for lack of 18x18 housing slots. |

I didn't like EQ2 at all compared to the original EQ. But I actually didn't care for the original EQ after a few expansions.
They made everything too easy after awhile, I guess it sorta falls in line with the more "casual gamer" wanting things handed to them, with no risk of loosing anything. That's one reason I never even bothered with WoW, no real risk in anything, my dad and brother moved onto WoW, and they both told me the same thing, so I was never interested. But I remember the original eq, where higher levels had unrestricted abilities in helping out others, so they could play the hero. The kill stealing mages who got the final kills on the monsters, so you train his ass and kill him. The 2 hour corpse runs because you couldn't find someone to bind yourself in the closer town. The 6 hour corpse recoveries after a failed Vox raid, taking the chance that your group can handle the frenzied room in lower guk, and then wondering how you're even going to get back there when you were all wiped out... only to have a friendly group of higher levels come and clear the way for you. Out of everything I remember in the +700 days played for me in eq, the rough times are still quite vivid in my mind. To me that's what sold me on the game, there were consequences to every action, and they took that all away by having a nexus, and then the planes of power where anyone could teleport anywhere, and then corpses popping back up at the entrances to zones. I just lost total interest in the game when there wasn't any real consequence to doing something. EQ2 followed this as well, so to me it was boring as late eq was. |
