It was a statement of fact, nothing more. I was accusing no one of anything. My experience has been a lack of active admins on GC when I've played there(and an abundance of people who needed to have an admin deal with them). I think both servers serve part of the community, and skill has little to do with it. Many D2F regulars play there when D2F is either full, or empty. It is considered by many of our regs as a second place to meet at for a game. From what I've heard lately, though... we're not as welcome there as their regs are at Drippy's(the ones that aren't banned, that is).

As for WHY those players were banned from D2F, yeah, it's either from being a cheater or a disruptive asshat. The rules there are pretty simple; don't spam/camp respawn(the sniper deck isn't considered respawn on either side), don't go for cheap kills(refer to the above), and don't be disruptive to other players.

GC has a different rule set, but it's pretty simple to adapt one way or the other.

Have played a few games on GC and gotta say I could remember why TFC pub used to be shit too. respawn spammers everywhere with their gas grens and demo pipes.

Still will give GC another go though. it's active 24/7.

i recently tried tfc after years of not playing it. i primarily played cs and never got involved in leagueplay with tfc. i decided to play a few pickups.

my experience was pretty distasteful.

i immediately felt the clunkiness of the game engine. using mwheeldown to jump wasn't the problem... it was that i would scroll and scroll and only jump once. the trimping took a game to get used to, as did rocket/pipe/flag radius. so... after getting all of trentluv's config hacks i was ready to play another one. more bad:

the engineer sucks compared to ff. the build screen, aiming the sg, and the fact that if u get conc'd u go flying off the screen but your ugly gun still keeps getting built - awesome. did i mention the shitty audio quality? on another note, being used to ff's conc aim - i sucked at that in tfc, but i remember being better when i actually played that game like 8 years ago.(Old Technology) also my concs were pretty legit... more prestine in FF but i had no trouble concing yard as medic on schtop.

these are all things im sure you're all used to hearing and probably dont think much of it because the "GAMEPLAY" is whats important... but lemme tell you something:

ff's gameplay is better.

I disagree..

here are some stats from right now of servers I have been on previously.

The Gas Chamber... 29/31 all humans
Games-Inside.nl 19/29 humans
AIMaster.ru 12/32 humans
Drippy's 2for 11/26 humans
etc.

According to HLSW there there are 2 FF players on (not password protected servers).

It's a fact that most people play on Drippy's because they can't handle playing on GC. Maybe it's the lack of rules that coddle people who are terrible at TFC that drives them to 2fort?
