Release a small little patch to tied us over, then get working on the move to what ever the latest version is. Keep us updated and maybe even release texture templates for everything to allow the community to help.

Release the templates bigger then whats needed that way they can be scaled down. Have the community submit them and then have the community vote on which ones they prefer. People aren't going to always get what they want, but at least the community will have a say.

Least that way you can kill 2 birds with one stone.

From my understanding the latest source engine has better net code, better hit detection, and is a little easier to program stuff. Better handing of textures.
