Why does the previous week's match need to be reported before the schedule for the next week's match is announced? I know one of the biggest complaints about the final season was that sometimes the schedule was posted only a day or two before the matches. We couldn't scrim other clans because we didn't know if the team we were scriming would be the team we were playing. Plus coordinating with team captains was difficult with only a day or two. If you wait for the slackers to report and stuff, you'll inevitabley have situations like this. Does the scores of the last round really determine into the factoring of who you're playing next? Aren't all clans going to have an equal shot at one an another? Why can't you schedule things 2 weeks in advance? For example: Week 1 and Week 2 schedules are posted to start off. The day after the "Final Day to play" for week one, post week 3's schedule. Then the day after the "Final day to play" for week 2, post week 4's schedule... and so forth. That way you don't have an entire season scheduled. You still have the ability to allow for new clans to enter since it won't throw off your scheduling, and nobody will have to worry about late scheduling. |

Because the scheduling is done by a wins/loss/forfeits etc.
I'll not go into the whole formula (yes there is one), but essentially: your try to schedule winners vs winners and losers vs losers also forfeit wins go with other forfeit wins as do the clans that forfeited. So if you don't have the stats from the week before that's really hard to do. And can end up being very unfair. Also though, the way I did it in S1 was that I idle'd in every clans IRC chan all the time (and am currently doing that), and if they hadn't given me the report I bugged the shit out of them til they did. I think the only time I was ever late on getting schedules out actually happened b/c I forgot them (think I was drunk tbh ) and that's not gonna be a problem b/c if all 4 FF admins are afk, we have bigger problems

I always wondered why results had to be in before the next schedule was up. *Edit* I just looked at the rosters. [milkwood] Gator, Exo, Spoon, Killu I must have missed something pretty big in the past 2 months! Have spoon and exo reconciled? or has hell just frozen over? I can't wait to see the new 2.4 FF I should be getting my internet back next week at the latest Last edited by Hammock; 10-16-2009 at 08:34 PM. |

That's great and all, but you might want to talk to Warpig about his people skills, I've openly seen him insulting and bashing people in pub servers (Including myself). I've never seen anything but awesome people from UGC, but this one makes me scratch my head. Otherwise, that's good news, can't wait to play some competitive fortress

2 full matches might be stretching some people's time budget - especially if you count the whole set up time and everything into it. Still, good to see things going forward!

it looks like fair with 2 full matches.. But if there is no ping issue, maybe 1 match would be enough.

ye, I considered doing 1 match for US v US or EU v EU matches, but for consistency purposes, I opted for it to be league wide regardless of the matchups.
Also I know that's a lot of time, but hopefully your clan leaders are scheduling with each other and are allotting for that time appropriately that there won't be any problems, I doubt it...but that's the idea in theory.

What if we (europe) play every match on the same server when were playing against each other? What, then, is the point of playing two whole matches, on the same server, on the same map? Consistency, maybe; superflous, maybe?

then you play both on the same server? It doesn't matter to me, but the reason we do 2 separate server's is so that one clan can not make an accusation that another received an unfair advantage. So if you choose to forfeit your server choice, then so be it...but that still doesn't change the fact that a US/EU matchup should be played this way. And I just like things to be the same for people so it's easier to know what to expect.

its a bad idea imo. It's already hard enough to play against euro's with the time differences, and now we have to play a a match for a hour? plus consider the hour its gonna take to set up! i just see people getting bored of playing the same map for so long, and having people not being able to field enough!
