Going with the 20's mafia theme with the tommygun, a stiletto knife would be a good addition lol. Then again, it's winston churchill, so you could probably give him weapons from that era instead.

You support adding a new class. That would introduce a 10th class to the battlefield. And this would remove the class used in Hunted.

So you are willing to both ADD or REMOVE classes. Quod Era Demonstratum'd Muthafuck!

This proves that you want to alter the game to the point of adding or removing a class. Do not get hung up on "Oh, there's always been x number of classes" Team Fortress 1 had only 5 classes at the beginning!

OMG if someone took a hold of the Darkplaces engine and replicated QWTF, I would be in some kind of heaven.

This must be done.

If we're talking about hunted now:

-give the civ the tommygun, or remove spies entirely. the tommygun isn't even that strong right now, but if the hunted sees someone beelining for him, he can start shooting at that person to let his team know there's an enemy nearby.
-someone fix kali_hunted to actually be kali hunted, make the sewers lua decent, and fix the fucking spawn areas

You know, we should just go ahead and replace the civi with a lvl 7 sentry gun. Any further arguments are invalid.

i'd rather see FF move over there heck there's a community that actually wants a game like FF (valve not so much). I bet they would be willing to help as well. there like 30 devs working on darkplaces. why not throw the final fu to valve who has shown us no love what so ever as they seem to be making the move towards supporting the indie crowd exclusively.

yes it would be alot of work but I feel that it might be a better home for a game like FF that desperately needs a change in scene. its open source works on windows, linux, and mac that (expanded player base right there.) graphically is about the same as it is currently which is insane for an opensource engine. also this xonotic has a small but consistent size euro crowd they play all day and all night which would bring players over.

but do to manpower issues i doubt it will ever happen that and everyone would have to learn how use the new engine. should be considered though if we can get help from the other dev team.

Pyro is bad because of his high damage out put, which is why he's frown upon.

Add reload to IC, Flamethrower. Reduce Damage to Flamethower and burn levels. Reduce Napalm to 1, boost damage, less effective towards SGs(the sg is fucking metal bitches.)
The pyro isn't very effective against a well-placed SG. It's always been the main weakness besides EMPs. If you can get close and circle strafe it, the SG can be destroyed. But if you can't get near it, you won't be able to do anywhere near enough damage to destroy it.

No point in reducing napalm to 1. Leave it at 2. Increasing the damage of the napalm in conjunction with reducing or removing burn levels is fine. I would actually prefer if burn levels were removed. It's more consistent that way.

Okay, seems like 100% of us don't like afterburn.

[√][Afterburn] Gone.

And nothing of value was lost (In FF 2.5)

What are people's thoughts on the flamer as a movement tool?

If 'us' means the ones posting in this thread, then count me out. I have no problem with the afterburn and I think people that do are n00bz.

I personally like Kube's idea, coupled with a shorter range for the flamethrower and a reload function for the IC (which rice confirmed is definitely going to happen).

I hope all the devs have read this thread and taken note.

this could remedy most of the problems with the pyro right here. though the burn levels would still have to be balanced then, we'd be all set.

Okay, so 100% of players have problems with afterburn IN ITS CURRENT STATE.

Wow.......this discussion is kind of amusing. I haven't been playing FF a whole lot, or posting in these forums the last year or 2 (like hardly ever), but the last time I regularly did the discussion was about finding a role for the Pyro to be useful in. Now it seems, the Pyro is considered too powerful and your whole team should all be Pyros.......right? I could swear that this class was never used in clan matches, or pickup games because you always end up losing the flag cap war, which is the whole point to the game, right? I dunno.......I've seen plenty of Pyros being blown to shit and shredded (myself included) by HWs, Sollys, and SGs........how is he broken now?

Lets put it this way, "I can stand infront of the front door and rape anything that comes in,and I don't even have to worry about killing them, because 10 seconds later they'll die fro, afterburn."

That is what is wrong with the Pyro, oh wait, that's the same problem we've had with the Pyro since Forever.
