That's a really good idea tbh.
"Server uses different class tables" doesn't mean a whole lot to most people.
I've seen people trying to connect to our server (with a 1.0 client when the server was 1.1) like 4 times in a row because, i guess, they didn't know what the error was about.

Valve used to do that with TFC back in the WON days....if anyone can remember that far back.

Need servers to update! I went to a 1.11 server earlier but it was still using the old AC spinup time.

We can't block the server table error, and I believe the engine would error out before any of our custom version checking would be able to get through, at least in cases where the tables mismatch.

finally as a hwguy I won't be run-over by a scout.

this patch makes the hwguy feel perfect, almost like TFC but BETTER.

and just as I get used to concs flying around everywhere you fix it..oh well

good job devs.

Could I talk a few brave souls into testing this 1.11 incremental EXE?

I compared the paths of the .exe and the .zip files and they look the same. I've also installed this on my system.

Thanks go out to Tothie for his files and readme that allowed me to create this installer. I chopped one of Ghostbuster's pics, added the FF icon and updated the version numbers.

What about after the server table error then? Can you get it to trigger your own error message to pop up after it? Atleast then you can still tell the user what's wrong.

This seems really shortsighted by valve to code it that way.

You know what? I almost mistook this post for the 1.1 patch release. Way to make it confusing for those of use with the combined IQ of -37.

Good deal, that is why I made the .exe. I just hope somebody gets it mirrored. My bandwidth could get maxed. Maybe it will do fine....

Quick question. Was the 1.1 version updated to include the 1.11 files? The reason I ask is because a lot of people have version 1.0 still, and if they go download the newest version(1.11) they might get confused as to what to do, so maybe having the 1.1 patch updated with the most current 1.11 files.

I was actually going to suggest the main background to have the version number too. Its a really good idea and helps us help people who have no clue which version they've downloaded.

I'm 100% ok with the HW now. I'd still like him to do extreme amounts of damage at near point blank range but I can live without it.

This update overwrites sounds. I had all of my sounds about 75% replaced with the TFC sounds. After the update I'm back at defaults. I updated with Crosus. I'm not upset over it though. Its my fault for not backing the stuff up. I was going to release it to everyone when I was finished

KubeDawg,

I'll make an exe tonight that is 1.1+1.11.

Sobe,

Very true - Crosus had a tendency to overwright cusom content. I have not tested this with the file attributes set to "read only". Has anyone done this?
