That actually seems extremely fun! Maybe with 8v8 pickups becoming somewhat popular, we can try out some unorthodox maps like cz2, dustbowl etc ;D

My only comment about the map itself is caps 2/4 need a longer lock out time. Neither team made all 5 caps nor did they even get a chance to make an attempt on it. As soon as one was capped, we'd die and the enemy would have it recapped almost instantly. Cap 3 worked perfectly though, both teams always seemed to manage to hold it for awhile, and retake it with a bit of a struggle, but neither team held the enemy's 2nd cap for longer than it took the lock out timer to end. |

Sorry to bust this idea, but AvD wouldn't really work in a pickup without it feeling like just another pub. To really make it work, you'd have to make the AvD maps last in rounds. Each side has 10 minutes to get as far they can. The side that gets further is the obvious winner. And big maps like the original Ksour are just a cap fest. Could probably work well on Avanti though.

What do you mean exactly? In our game teams were even. But it was a blast! rodox and hitman had the defense really well. redneck made things interesting with his sniper. just a great map overall. Can't wait to do it again

i mean how does warpath play in pickups with different numbers of players (e.g. 4v4, 5v5, ..., 8v8 ) assuming the teams are even? obviously it's easier to fill a pickup with less players, so knowing this would be useful.
if it plays well then for some reason warpath pickups appeal to me much more than other non-ctf gamemodes. could be a nice break from ctf now and then !add Last edited by caesium; 04-10-2012 at 09:46 AM. |

We've only done this in an 8v8 format. That day we had a lot of players around so it wasn't hard to get that 8v8 going. As far as doing like 5v5 and 4v4 with warpath, i can't see that doing well. Just not enough action going on. The battle that took place on warpath felt like a real battle -- the map really does feature what FF is all about. |
