FortressForever with Linux and Wine issue
Hello, nice forum.
I just have a tiny issue regarding how i install FortressForever, i hope some one can help me out with my issue. This issue is as follows: 1) I install FortressForever_2_44_Full.exe It working great with Linux Ubuntu 11.04 and with Wine. But during installation it ask in witch folder to install - i pick desktop. This is how the icons look like on my desktop: 2) The issue is when i open or start FortressForever - then it open up a window with wine folders and i have no clue what to do. Can anyone else see this? It still has colours as if its moderated and hidden.
As for helping - I'm a bit lost. Do you realise you need Steam (www.steampowered.com) for this and that FF will install to the mods folder within steam? |

I post some image, because i wanted to make a nice topic witch was clear for pepole to undertand my issue - now i understand mod will view them. So i will un-install FF and then instal Steam and then FF again. Tanks for the help for a NEWBIE like me
Now i have POL and FF on my computer. But FF does not start. Do i have to install FF into POL or how is this working ?? Have no clue!!! Many thanks. EDIT When i know how this work i will fix my daughters computer and we will have some hard core FUN with FF |

I had FF working on Linux at one point. You need to install the right media package from the repository to get it working correctly. Can't remember what it was for the life of me, but there's a script you can find pretty much anywhere (Google) that has a bunch of different utilities and programs from Wine. I never had any luck with Play On Linux, but with the right amount of tweaking, most things will work in Wine pretty well.

You also have to delete a font.
Every time I've tried recent versions of FF on Wine, it would work for a few minutes and then crash. |
