Bad lag with low ping....

ok, the last couple of weeks i've been freezing in game extremely bad and its pissing me off. i freeze and sit there and i'm watching everybody else run around and do their thing but i cant move, then the screen gets shaky and i'm back in the game.

i average 26-40 ping on the server, with no jump in ping when this happens.

what can i do to fix this or trouble shoot it?????

Check your video drivers, and make sure there are no hardware conflicts. It sounds like your system is bogging down, rather than lag in your connection.

chek net_graph 3 to see the choke and loss might be related with that, loss is suposed to be 0 choke with lot of players can go up to 40 s

my guess : network hardware is dying.

run speedtests at www.speakeasy.net to see if its FF or the network.

if youre wireless, try changing the channel, and or reducing mtu setting by 50 in router settings.

or just stop seeding that 20tb porn file

then again if your ping doesnt increase when you "spike" maybe its a virus.

Had the same problem it was the choke. write rate in your consul. mine cam up 10000.changed it to 70000 that fixed it.

what are is your cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate and rate settings at?

Gambit:
what happens to you having "lag" with "ping"under is due to a "warp" or "microcut" from your ISP or the server itself. I recommend you set the rates according to your connection speed.
Try putting "rate 20000 " in console.
