Firefox vs Chrome
So I've been using Firefox since the pre 1.0 days. Is Chrome that much better/faster then Firefox?
I've been having a lot of annoying issues with Firefox that are causing me to consider a change. Pros and Cons would be great |

but does less shit and tends to be pretty annoying eventually if you prefer to do much on it. I used chrome for a while when I was running off of 1GB RAM and it works if you need the memory, but will annoy the shit out of you in the long run if you don't.

I know exactly nothing about technical aspects of how things works and such, and I got Google Chrome when it first came out. I liked it, but I'm not sure there was a huge difference in speed. Although I haven't tried it recently, I think it might be mostly personal preference.

Firefox and it's extensions can be a memory hog. Keep your addons/extensions to a minimum, and you should be fine.

On Vista, Chrome hogs memory if you have a lot of tabs open and leave your computer on for extended periods of time. I prefer chrome to do everyday browsing, in which I close tabs. When I want to save material to read later, or review, or just plain put off to read another time/later, I'll read it in Firefox.

Not a big fan of chrome so far but I am sure it will get much better. A lot of sites I use do not get along with chrome very well. Netflix being one of them.
Mozilla is promising some performance changes in Firefox that look promising with v3.7 As a side v3.6 beta 5 is available for dl. 100s of bug fixes over current version. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html but it's a beta.... so you never know.

From a security briefing I had a few months ago one of the issues with Chrome is going to be privacy. IIRC your browsing records are fed back to google for tracking and ad/banner targeting among other things. Similar privacy issues exist for google desktop, android and the other google products.

I feel like of the evil things in the world, Google doesn't even rank. I don't feel unnerved about Google taking some information of my browsing habits and such.

It's bigger than that. If the potential for Law Enforcement to access information like this without a court order exists what happens when your internet activity becomes accessible as part of employment screening?

All I use my browser for is surfing, so Chrome is the way to go for me.
