I agree but I do know they've made lots of progress on trying to making the targeting systems and aiming systems a bit more lenient in terms of not being spot on but not being so retarded either.
But lately the focus has been separating goals and mapgoals from the navigation file so its not going to be defendant on the map having waypoints or nav mesh or floodfill navmesh. And even focusing on getting navmesh+floodfill finished. |

So... I basically agree with what s0und said in the original post, but minus all the bitterness. I've never liked bhopping, meaning I personally don't usually play classes that require it to be maximally effective, but I don't care whether or not it's in the game for other people to use. I enjoy defense, crazy as that may sound to the bhop fans. There does also seem to be some elitism, just do a search for "nazi admins" and you'll find plenty of whining about catering to noobs. But to me this suggests that FF needs some new blood and not a series of drastic changes that will alienate the existing players. As for how to do that, your guess is as good as mine. As was suggested, altering SG effectiveness does seem like a good step though.

What are your skills? Good with digital imagery? Mappers and modders love textures. Good with digital audio? Communities love custom sound packs. Allowing customization allows for players from all styles of games to feel welcome in fortress-forever.
Things we are always in need of: Sprites and decals for clan style players. Sound packs and model packs for casual players. New maps! New Gametypes! Toodles! |

None of that really... I can write scripts but even those aren't very sophisticated lol. One day when I have the time I'd like to figure out how to do some mapping.

are you talking about scripts for binds? or Lua scripting?
If you have custom scripts you wrote, the Tips and tutorials section is the place for those! |
