No Source games load

Okay, so here's my situation.

A few days back my hard drive failed after some power surge. So I got a new hard drive and installed it, and moved what I could and reinstalled stuff. Steam included.

So, after reinstalling stuff, I felt like playing a few games. I reinstalled the games (god that takes a long time) and started it up.

Here is what it says.

Preparing to launch Half-Life 2... or whatever game it's trying to launch.

After a few seconds, that window closes and... nothing happens. What is causing this?

Edit: Oh, Half-Life 1 runs, but I want an actual GOOD deathmatch.

Edit again: Disregard this post, I suck cocks. One of the video drivers did not install all the way, and it is working again.
