it was originally intended to be released along with the windows binaries. however, we're having rather dire issues with it at the moment, as in, it crashes. timewise, i can only say "as soon as possible". its at the top of our agenda, but there's only a few people on the team who can help.

I would guess that anyone who is uber-familiar with Linux could let the devs know, assuming they are willing to help out.

that said if anyone's familiar with the sdk AND linux dev, then we might be going places faster..

Yeah, we were at the point where everything was done and it was like "Oh, we can get these Linux problems fixed in 1 1/2 weeks".

Seriously, linux was what held up 2.1 to this point. More than a few devs said "Fuck it, let's at least get the client and Windows out". It's a shitty situation, yeah, but would you rather have waited until the linux is done?

Honestly, yes. Now everyone has updated on the client side, yet there are only a handful of servers running 2.1
Result - a lot of players that would be playing aren't. Try explaining to newcomers to FF why when they join 3/4 of the servers they get an error. They are likely to give up, uninstall, and forget about it.

Then the explaining task has been completed. We have explained to people that the servers are out-of-date; they are not likely to give up and uninstall, they are likely to join one of the populated servers.

Well unfortunately it is what it is now. If some server owners weren't so damn lazy the could do like I did.

And I PW'd it so they can't join. The Dev team did everything they could to get it out. There is at least 9 servers updated to 2.1 and they aren't all full. Most of the updated ones say 2.1 in the server title. So I'm confused where the confusion comes from.
