OK rather than post 50 times asking stipid questions every time i get stuck could someone make a comprehensive guide on how to make a ff map?
Not only for me but also other mapping novices.
I'm talking like a word file with pics that covers everything on creating your first block to custom textures and lua files?

Setting up Hammer

General Hammer tutorial

Basic FF lua guide

Other important things you might need

The Valve Developer Wiki is an invaluable resource. Use it for nearly everything except FF-only problems.

All the basics for Hammer are here:
http://developer.valvesoftware.com/w...y:Level_Design
Also look at the sticky topics on the top of this forum. There are several good sites around, some with video, example maps, etc.

As for lua and FF specific stuff, yes I think there needs to be a comprehensive guide. But including the "how to make your first room" tutorial and everything else with it would be overkill. That stuff is already readily available.

I might take the "ff-specific aspects of mapping" tutorial into my own hands, if no one else does soon. Might be fun to write, and I'm pretty good at explaining things procedurally.
