That's bullpoop, the idea is to get an anwser before the patch is released, so we know what to expect or discuss it if we don't agree. That way there will be less bitching when it isn't as 'expected' and you won't have to wait another year before it's adressed.

So you are willing to wait another few months for another patch if this feature fails horribly? I mean, if steam allowed mods to have automatic updates, then that'd be different, but as it is, we'd all have to wait till FF 2.2 or whatever the next patch would be before that feature would be reverted, if it fails horribly.

'We' as in, the community or whoever wants to. I am not one of the latter. Was just pointing out that waiting for new releases before commenting is a bad idea.

Note: the skimcap doesn't affect normal bhop at all. It only affects weapon/grenade jumps that give a lot of horizontal speed (namely, concs). It exists for one reason, and one reason alone: to stop people from concing straight forward and using their speed to blow by defenders who, currently, don't stand much chance of stopping them.

The idea is to make concs something you use to get places, not something you use to build speed to get places. It should be your vehicle, not your key. If that makes any sense.

Defensive classes have been rebalanced in some areas to compensate for this reduced speed, the HWGuy especially. You just need to... experience it. If you go off of what you knew from TFC, you're going to get an extremely wrong impression of it.

Remake the thread when the patch is out.
