My bike
1975 Kawasaki F11 250. It's an enduro.
After nearly 10 months of working on this sucker, I've finally gotten it up and running. I also learned that u-turns are harder on a motorcyle than a bicycle. And gravel hurts with shorts, which is why I'm buying overpants for my jeans. I have a helmet, gloves, boots, and a jacket. Motorcycles are fucking awesome .

Yeah, I'm wearing jeans now, and buying Icon Arcs after I get some money.
Bugger died today. 2 miles from home. Hilly terrain. Not fun. Firefox: I've got a helmet, jacket, gloves, and boots.

How much are you paying for insurance?

Insurance is for sissies.
But Progressive quoted me @ $121 a year paid in full. I hope to get a Ninja 500R or a GS600 in a few months.

$121 a YEAR? The smallest quote I could get was $1800 dollars for the year....
Geez.... And on a bike, insurance isn't for sissies, it's for intelligent people.

1. Liability is all that's legally required
2. Following 1, I don't exceed 35 MPH on gravel with a 300 pound bike. I very much doubt I'm going to need liability much. Bloody thing isn't even registered. Your problem is probably being 17 and having a bigger bike. You has a 600, right?

Smart man!
Perhaps your area is higher than mine. I live in a town with less people than most large schools. Our entire county only has 13k people.

Yeah, there's probably a number of factors... either way it's a fuckload of money.
A buddy of mine just bought a hayabusa though, and his insurance was quoted at 9000 a year.

I wouldn't be caught dead with a Busa. They may be powerful, but they're uglier than fuck with the extended wheelbase.
I can definately believe the 9k a year though. I doubt he even takes it out much . Hyabusas are more showbikes than anything else.

Oh god no, he didn't bother to insure it, he sold it a full 2 days after he bought it, and he got a Kawi zx-6r instead. Much better bike imo, but then again I'm a huge Kawasaki fanboy.

I ride a 1983 Yamaha Venture VX1200. The thing has a damn stereo on it, that's how big it is. The gas mileage is pretty bad, but it's a real smooth ride and it's a lot of fun too. My first bike was a 1975 Honday CB500Four. It was a good bike, but I needed something a little bigger... so I got something a lot bigger.

Can't find any pictures on Google, but I'm going to assume that the VX1200 is a Tourer? And good to hear he got rid of it, Frenchy. I have a relevant picture about drag bikes.
And as one of my friends once said: If you want to look fast, get a GSXR-6. If you want to go fast, get a ZX6-R.
