I know most of you frequent several different forums... make a post about FF. Just getting the name spread outside this website will help.

Myspace might attrack people to try out FF. There should be one. Also someone need to update the download stuff on Mod DB since it still says the latest version is 1.11 and some people have downloaded it to realize they cannot join servers.

The community has at least doubled since I started hitting the FF HARD early this year. The peeps are coming, it will just take time. If you want more peeps - be nicer to the WhenFFwillOuts. Peeps go off the deep end when they do something "against the rules", and we lose potential players. Spread some homey <3 and the peeps will come

I have been spreading the word about Fortress Forever since the beginning. I recently closed TFX - TeamFortressXtreme.com due to a total lack of support from members and community sites and this truly saddens me. I have worked my ass off on TFX to get new players interested in these kinds of games with all available info, download links, videos, tuturiols, guides, etc, all in one place but this new generation of gamers growing up are lazy little bitches who don't want to try "Mods" and get bored very easily or quit and never come back when picked on in a server for being new.

I now work with Railbait.com who hosts a FF server and also ETF, TF2, and other servers. I been with them since I first figured out what a "Forum" was and decided to make it my permanent home.

These words are hard to say for me, but "Fortress is Dead".

I will continue my efforts to promote this game since I enjoy playing it so much. Maybe something great will happen in the future.

Very eloquently said. I was on server with a new guy, helping him out. He thanked me for being nice to him and we chit chatted for a bit. Make some friend bro's. the mod will thank you for it..this mod will always be battling for its very existance cuz of various other factors beyond the control of the dev team. But, at least the community can have a positive effect on peoples gaming experience when they come to play with us..

I don't think spreading the word will do much for playerbase, there were over a thousand people playing FF the first week it came out. It's now more like fifty.

I disagree. Load up natural selection for HL1, theres probably 2-3 times the active playerbase of FF, at least. Now granted NS is an excellent game, but given how hardcore it is (read: steep learning curve), thats pretty amazing.

FF will continue to gain players for years, we just need to accelerate that process. Those of you with SA accounts or whatever forum you frequent see if anyone wants to play a FF game.

Also when you go to LAN parties, see if people want to play a match of FF. 2v2 or 3v3 AvD is pretty fun. Better yet, if you have a spare computer make a Fortress tournament and get sponsored by Nvidia or someone for prizes. Can you imagine a Fortress tournament in Quakecon with $$$ or graphics cards as prizes? People would download and participate just for the shot at first, and most will probably end up liking it.

The NS playerbase is a lot smaller that it used to be as well.

I spammed ff everywhere i could during 1.0 1.1 stage, but I stopped because I am not 100% behind 2.0

when sniper is fixed/buffed to normal again ill start spamming ff again.

Yeah I'm always nice to new people. Thats what I loved so much about this game. Awesome gameplay AND an awesome community. It really shocked me how many people were friendly. O hand I used to think "WhenFFwillOut" was someones name... Took me a while to realize it was the default name :P What does it mean anyway?
