but its FUN none-the-less
FPS did seem to increase with the release of 2.0, perhaps theres more optimization to be done in 2.1?

Yeah it is. There are prolly some tweaks that they wanna do. I dont know tho, FF is pretty complete as it is right now. IMHO Im saying that, knowing that there may be a hundred posts after this saying how wrong i am and what else they could do to it or add to it..

theres always something to be added or taken away from a game, but you have to balance that, granted, a game with 200 different guns would be a Pain in the ass to make, but hell, with that many gun combinations, it would be sick.
still, FF is pretty complete, but im talking merely about otimizing the source engine to allow the game to run better, for some reason i get a much better fps on hl2dm than in ff

yes, yes it would, now that i look back on it.
But i think it can be done by the developing studio if im not mistaken, as long as it doesnt change core files

Im just kinda wondering if, in this day and age of technology, if they havent maxed out the ability of the current programming or code?? Does that make sense?? The biggest problem i see is that people's hardware isnt all the same, so that would create a situation where even if they wanted to go with the absolute best coding for game designing, maybe some peoples computer wont be able to handle it. Which creates fps problems, cpu lag, etc..its not always the dev teams fault when something doesnt run as it should. Lots of thing can go wrong server side or client side..am i wrong here??

Bandwidth is what is keeping multiplayer games pared down more than anything. Especially in the US, bandwidth hasn't really evolved as quickly as the rest of computing.

Thats an interesting thought. I think i would agree with you. I wonder when they'll get the idea to improve bandwith. Its not like cpu's arent being made to go faster these days. Faster CPU = Faster Server = Faster Bandwidth?? am i wrong??

CPU's and Bandwidth have nothing in common. but, to run a good server you need both. CPUs to calcuate the advanced math in running a server, such as lag prediction, player kills, scoreboard, etc. bandwidth is so all the calcuated math can get to the clients and back in time so it isnt jittery. thats why you have a laggy server is when you you're in place, the server is waiting to get back to you, and forces you in one spot till you get the info, and when you get it, it's one spot, so you teleport there.

so, your equation should be changed from faster CPU= fater server= faster bandwidth to faster CPU + big bandwidth= fast/good server

And make sure you have decent RAM
Theres a Noteable difference in say, your using a 1 ghz processor.
512 will run A LOT slower than 2 ghz
