Create an ISO without a CD

How would I go about making an ISO?

I already know how to make a CD into an ISO and an ISO into a CD. What I am looking to do is... I guess virtual burning?

Let's say I have a .zip file that is 500MB. I want to make an ISO to distribute it to my friends over the Internet so they can burn CDs with it, but I do not have a burner. I am the only one with a file, and I do not want to have them take the source files, burn it, rip it, and send me the ISO.

So, would I be able to select a bunch of files and create an ISO on my HD without needing a burner? Obviously I would need a program to do this, so if youse gais know of anything like this (especially freeware), I would really like to hear about it. This is sorta time critical, btw. Thanks.

You can use a program called EasyISO (freeware). Heres a download link:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-.../EasyISO.shtml
At the bottom left there is a menu that has a create ISO option.

I think you could go with the free program ISO recorder by Alex Feinman.
