but see, the whole arguement for non-etf pyro is that he "causes chaos;" but that's such a retarted role; "yes, he sucks at everything, but boy, when that chaos meter is low, you know who to call";
the tfc pyros were anti-snipers mainly because their IC blast went through walls and cluttered the hud; if this feature were to be implimented in FF, along with a straight shooting IC +attack2, both snipers AND pyros would be viable classes |

I'm going to guess your from the usa credge.. But over here we mostly did 8v8 in tfc. And the Sniper did get to play in league matches. I never did "prem" but i have played tfc since the beginning and i have seen plenty of snipers used on rock2/well/2fort/openfire just to name a few. This was before the whole bhop thing and after that clanplay changed a lot. But clans did use them.
Not to mention AvD where the sniper was pretty much default if you had a good one. And just to clarify myself i'm not saying anything whether the sniper should be or not be playing in league matches. That's up to each clan to decide. Personally i prefer caesium's explanation that he just removes himself and a offy from the match. |

I just gave the FF a go (I'm an old TFC player) and have to say it looks and plays great.
Hunted, CZ2, Cornfield, all look awesome. I did give FF a go when it first came out and wasn't impressed, but this 2.0 is definately a big improvement. There's a couple of things I don't like though. 1) The single shotgun still sucks! it hardly feels like you're firing a weapon. 2) The jump pads are awful, both in looks and messing up the gameplay. I can bhop & conc and love the game fast paced, but that thing is too far imo. If you really feel you need them in the game then make them destructable and also smaller. 3) WTF is up the the scoreboard? 5000 points etc? The HWGuy seems to work well now, and I love the Pyro and Soldier too. And well done for sorting out the Demoman! It's a pity there only seems to be like two EU servers a few US ones... If you can bring out FF_2fort and FF_Rock2 soon, along with a training mode and bots, and advertise the hell out of this mod, you could find that this thing finally takes off. It's definately a great game with potential. Well done to Aftershock and the rest of the new devs (and old). Pity it wasn't this polished and ready to go a year ago. |

ff_2fort is being worked on as we speak. It's looking good, but won't be ready for at least a few weeks. It was decided not to hold up the patch for one map(not even that one). Rock2, is another matter. It was started, and the mapper vanished. Basicly, only the yard, and one side's rooms are done. Nothing else.
As for the scoreboard.... I think you are looking at the "Fortress Points" counter. Which scores you based on several things; Flag caps, medic heals, etc. It is supposed to help promote teamwork. It will also be a part of the stat-system, when/if it gets implemented. Welcome aboard!

First test play lasted over 3 hours
Also, palermo needs moar signage. That's about it most of the negatives covered. Other than the jump pad is a bit funky, but so far, I think a kinda good kind of funky. Scout feels nice to play - enjoyed the speed. Soldier feels "right" now. Demo blue pipes are mint Medics drop medkits are actually quite nice (I'VE SEEN A "HEALER" MEDIC BE EFFECTIVE OMG - epicenter) Hwguy is bordering insanity in terms of damage - perhaps too much? Pyro flamethrower is epic fun on AvD, actually pyro is just epic fun in general. Spy remains amusing, but the reg' on the knife between two moving players is so bad. :P Sniper/Engy idk. Really enjoyed playing FF tonight, for a long time I felt a little bit like I was back in the good old days, living it up on a random map rotation (oh gosh not 2fart?) server. Oh yeah, waterpolo had sex with my PC. Wait, no, it was more like rape, I think. Might take a more "clan players" look at FF later. |

has unaided bhop been fixed, i mean actually make u go faster than just running? Cause I'm scared of Bhop... FF is way too fast for me.

It feels faster than TFC as far as bhopping goes. Maybe it was because I sucked at bhopping in TFC though...

Squeek you are calculating 1.3, isn't it 1.2 now? The scout can only get up to 480 max bhop.

You can get passed the 480 by continually bunnyhopping (applying mouse movements and strafe keys), but if you were to halt strafing and mouse movement but continued to jump, you would sink back down to 480.
