??? i know the dev team kept a placeholder map for 2fort... and i know they had a (darn ) leak of the dev_2fort... what im here asking is where is my damn leaked rock2... pleaze

I might since I loved that map. I've said a few times i wouldn't make remakes probably, but I might have to do this next. Already almost done with a simple 2fort I made since the sdk is messed up (not a exact remake, its kinda big, like 2x longer 4x wider lol, dunno if FF is faster or what but 2fort is small as hell).

Aside from my map and the 2fort I got, none of my maps that I have planned are really that big or use common gametypes, they are all small weird gametype maps (cause I know making new CTF maps is a waste of time). One map I had planned is similar to Rock2's objective, so I might just do that in a remake instead of a new map.

If I did I would probably spend some time on it, maybe release all 3 together or something and get a 3 map 20 min rotation server

ff_TheRock sounds great! I love that map very mutch or give a other gas map the rock name, I think its hard to create alot codes or lua's need you there but meaby im wrong.

I liked ff_therock...then make it an alcatraz themed map...jail cells and what not and keep to the rock2 theme of poison gas...could still have a warden's office but wouldn't necessarily be a direct remake!

I think you should have nicholas cage and ed harris in this map posted around areas.


Or, make it so that you have to defuse rockets for the cap... or launch rockets. Like go into the enemy base, grab a key and go back to your base and launch a rocket to their base with gas in it. Eliminate the suits and stuff for your team.

The Sean Connery says cool stuff.

actually sence my last map failed on me i think ill do a rock2 style map, mostlikely it will be a whole new layout but the goals will be similar

Damn that is a great idea! Lol i wish i could map, But i cant.. I will try it soon Keep updated.
Make a jail just like that movie on a island if it capped that the island explode is that possible? Or is that difficult to make? Not very in Lua's and bsp's etc

i made a 'flag run' map for dukenukem 3 that i had the entire enemy base blow up when the flag was capped.... it had something like 5000 explosions that went off.. i member copy-pasting all day lol but damn was it a sight to see when you won... it was definatly worth it lol... but damn did it cause a lag spike from hell in fact it was pritty much only playable on a lan because it would most of the time crash when you did it on 56k lol... i think i could do something like that with my map... what do you say you codemonkeys ? is that posible to do with a lua say a trigger_ff_script ??? -edit also anything that was in the enemy teams base at the end on that map was blown up / dead / splatered lol

No need for a info_ff_trigger, could just use a normal env_explosion and trigger that entity in the LUA upon capping/whatever.

LUA for it sounds easily do-able to me.

EDIT: Some code if you want it. All you'd need are the env_explosions setup with the values you want in the map, and the following line in the LUA in the code for checking when it's been capped. This presumes that all the env_explosions are named "bigboomftw"

Code:
OutputEvent("bigboomftw", "Explode")
That should trigger them all at once. Probably.

sounds like a very nice map if it finished I gonna learn mapping to it sound like lots of fun to make your own maps. The idea of rock map like the rock movie is nice. Im gonna sleep now.. bb

ah that sounds good... i think ill have a huge green slime tank explode and leak posion slime , and it will leak gas somewhere also

gah im still at work lol... serious though it shouldn't take me long for the building part , however coding all the events will take me forever and mostlikely ill have to have help on doing that... it wont take me 4 months because im not going to do new textures mostlikely ..and i hope i wont 'give up' like i did with hallofgiants ;p

lol .. well if you want a progress meter we are at .1% i have an idea on what to make... its not a whole idea but just the 'gas' room... although i dont know if i can do this, i want to have the gas only release in the 'caped' teams base .. hell heh i dont even know how to get it to kill everybody let alone get it to kill everybody inside a sertain area.... uhhmm what have i dug myself into now
