failed to lock

Failed to lock vertex buffer in CMeshDX8::Lockvertexbuffer


Happens every time im sending info to the server.. Boots me off and gives me that message.. Anyone have any ideas on where to go from here?? thanks

I get the same thing from time to time. Also get the DirectX9 Device Present one also. These are both steam errors. I'm still trying to figure mine out.

I get that same stupid error, here a my PC Specs

8400?! i didnt know they made those! i thought the lowest was 8500 0_o



i also get this error at random, but not with FF

Did that a while back. Wasn't much help.

BTW for those that don't realize it, this "bug" affects many Source mods (including TF2). Personally, I've gotten it with FF, INS, HL2DM, and even HL2 a few times.

Setting your game to play in a window helps you be able to recover easier depending on which crash you get. Also you can try different DX levels also.

The odd part as far as mine goes, is that I can change DX level to 8 and change a few other settings around and it will work for a bit and then start crashing. Then I'll change back to my original settings and it will be fine for another random bit of time.
