FF more lagger than TFC

Hi people,

TFC is a only FPS multiplayer game playable at 56k connection that I know but it's not true to FF. I always play TFC with 200-300 ping (The servers near my city are nearly always empty). My question is: Is FF a more exigent connection game than TFC? FF send and transmit more data? Is it a Source engine requirement?

Thank you.

What? I understood right, did you say 300 - 400 ping is good to FF? Why?

For the connection matter, I live in a site where exist shared connection. At use peak the ping drops much. It's the reason because I use modem connection sometimes. I play too Counter-Strike Source but this game plays well.

And I know that TF2 is a Source engine game, I didn't say it.

Because it's source engine, even 300-400 ping is ok. Hell I had 1000 ping the other day, and I could still play fine.

I think you're ok (within reason) as long as your ping isn't spiking.

Eh it can't be quite true. FF is even worse about this than most other source games and mods. In TF2 and CS Source if I hit 100+ ping I'm fine but a little laggy. In FF if I hit 100+ ping my pipes start acting crazy, rockets are more unpredictable, and setting someone on fire is even harder.

Well, I am a 56K gamer and I would have to say that Fortress Forever gives me less connection problems than any other TF game including QWTF and ETF! TF2 is laggy as hell on 56K but I manage to play on full Fortress Forever servers with a 400 ping and cannot complain.

I am gonna post tips for 56K players.
