While it's not piracy, it's fucking lame. Just like anyone who played TFC for years and never bought hl1.

You can't use hot coffee without owning the game.. And I never thought you could play TFC without owning HL1 either? And you cant play DoTA without Wc3, right?
Yes the source physics engine is a 'heavily modified version of havok'. Thats not to say no work went into it. Getting off-the-shelf systems working inside your own bespoke software is often not an easy task, especially when (I might be wrong here) Valve had to create the network algorithms to send physics data in multiplayer games? Also of course, you'd be using their sound system, animations, graphics engine, networking code.. etc Last edited by AfterShock; 03-18-2007 at 02:05 PM. |
