I think you guys looked too much into the word now because I don't see it being used by Christians or pretty much anyone anymore. But it is quite predominantly used by Muslim Fanatics in todays world. Which kinda coins a new meaning of the word IMO.

I am having trouble telling whether you are serious. "Infidel" is not an Arabic or Farsi word. "Infidel" is an English word with latin roots. It means "one without faith". Saying it means "non-muslim" is simply incorrect.
