I think the best thing about FF so far is the "feel" of movement. For me, Valve really hurt the feel of TFC when the bhop-cap was introduced. I mean, sure, some way to limit bhopping was needed, but Valve's solution was harsh. Way before bhop I was still conc skimming and the like, and the "brick wall" effect slammed the door on that, too.

After playing FF for a while, I really don't want to play TFC

I think one of the main reasons for lower performance ATM (other than various optimizations) is related to the character models: They look outstanding and are pretty much done (save for the HW's head), but I don't think they LoD currently, which is why performance is rough at times during the "full" playtests.

On the other hand, I can tell you that spamming like a fiend has suprisingly little effect on performance: PHISH and I had numerous spam battles with cheats on (yay for infinite Mirvs!), and performance was much better than I expected with a zillion exposions and gas clouds on the screen.

I'd also like to know if they put their finger on me once and said "nah because...". If so, I'd like to know what was the reason they passed on me.

While Smack isn't very vocal on these particular forums, he's an active forum poster on the Catacombs. He has played TFC for a long time and has led one of the better A/D clans for a number of years. Not only that, but he's also produced numerous TFC "Play of the Week" AVI's, all of which have been done on his own free time and without any sort of compensation.

I don't know where you guys got the idea that he has "no TF knowledge," but you are sorely mistaken.
