It has a LOT of water cooling. Seriously he can get like 120 horsepower out of just the water cooler alone.
Also, WTF you guys were serious? Mervs actually in the beta? I was laughing my ass off at everyone believing his (and others) BSing. Lol. Well that's news then. |

Wha?
Civility from johnnyc? A conroe e6600 costs ~$380 CDN, 2 GB of pc6400 is ~$350, a 2xPCI-E mobo runs no less than $300 (and 90% of the 965 dual-core/quad-core ones have two PCI-E slots, but only one is 16x, while the other is 4x, hence, they wont run SLI unless, like in my case, you have a 7950 GX2, which is mock-SLI anyhow), and you need a PSU with at least 2x12v and a 24-pin. |

yeah... at the time of purchase, no conroe compatible mobos supported SLI, else I would have definitely got one, for a future upgrade.

Exactly...in fact, the only Conroe-compatible mobo I've seen so far that supports dual PCI-E x16 is the eVGA 680i

The new SLI mobo's have 3 16x PCI-E slots but you can only use two for GPU's, the third is designed for a PPU and only has half the speed/fill-rate/bandwidth/whatever. So the best you could do is 2x 7950GX2's so thats roughly 4 video cards, or two 8800GTX's. Either way thats a hell of a lot of money and beyond 3 monitors source gets dodgy, the peripheral vision becomes distortec and stretched. Theres a picture floating around in CSS with 3 screens, its more of an e-penis boost rather than usefulness. I have my 19" widescreen and my 17" for XSI and its much easier than just one. May sell the 17" and get another 19" for 2880*900 resolution. |

prepare to be disappointed for a few months yet then. i dont think current PCIe boards have the internal bandwidth to cope with three 16x slots just yet.. lol
EDIT: GL just proved me wrong :/ |

I don't even see how that is fair. How is that not cheating (when you can see 200% more of the field than others) but a wallhack is cheating? Both are giving a player an unfair advantage that one without the technology can't enjoy.
