This is good news for FF, bad news for TF fans.

Somehow I'm not that suprised to read that. If everything goes according to the "plan" EP2 etc will be out when my part of military service is over.

PS: I'm still following your progress as I'm sure you were worried

even if ep2 is released in summer 2007 that doesnt mean TF2 wont be out sooner. Valve can easily change the package or give TF2 or portal to people who preorder. easily done in steam. Valve has done this before, giving cs source to those who preordered hl2.

Ughh. Bad news. I think the success of TF2 will be important for FF. As Smack said tfc is on its last legs. Getting people back is gonna be hard but once theres a game Im sure people will come. Unless WoW takes even more TFCers =(

I would rather wait for a Bug-free release than another BF2 disaster.

Every single Battlefield game was unplayable till the second or third patch for
40%-50% of the users.

I know, I bought them all day or week of release, and was disappointed 3/4 times (only Vietnam ran well first week)

Thats a good point. Perhaps we will notice a particular level of polish when it comes out.

Agreed, this alleviates the pressure on the FF to put the game out, therefore possibly 'giving them more time' which sounds good. But in reality it means 'not releasing the game sooner' which sounds bad.

Overall this could have no impact at all on the developement of FF. Or, it could.

Really? I think this gives them more pressure to put it out sooner. The more they can show that they want to get this game out instead of delaying it further shows their commitment to the TF community. I think the worst thing they could do right now is sit back and think this is a lucky break.

i agree with ft here. furthermore, i dont see the ff team as the kind of "ok our competition is delayed, we can dick around now" type of team. the dicking around to work ratio is probably going to stay the same. im one of the very few who has unconditional faith in and love for the dev team. maybe i just have the hots for mulch...

I don't see the team like that either, and I can't see them sitting back on this.

But you know... 66 days...

"We'll be showing off what the retail box will be looking like on MTV's gaming show G-Hole next Wednesday the 15th at 8:00 p.m. This will include three short videos from Episode Two, Team Fortress 2, and Portal"

Taken from that annoying steam update news popup thing. So, at least we might get to see some new TF2 gameplay.....

This is lame. One of the guys was right. TFC is on its last legs. There has been a REALLY sharp decline the last year. Moreso than previous years. The old school vets and clanners are just stopping. If FF isnt released by Christmas or January, don't expect nearly the same numbers of players.

I suspect youre right. Who can blame people for quitting too? Theyve done it all by now, nothing new to learn there, the game is played out.

TF2 doesn't look good at all though; I'm entirely looking forward to FF alone. TF2 looks like it's going to be a silly cartoon game.

When they originally announced its release with the old engine, it sounded like it was going to be amazing =\
