I sure hope this makes it to market. Not that I've heard or read anything to suggest otherwise...but it would be just as bad as DNF if something tanked this...

My pants are moist in both anticipation, and fear of the impending impact on my wallet.

No doubt...but my current machine was first put together 3 years ago...my next upgrade has been put off due to something like this and Vista on the horizon...why buy parts I'll have to replace in 6 months?

Flipping phenomenal.

On a point of note, is there anyone who wants to buy a used 7950 GX2 in a few months

My general rule is 70% of the selling price at the time of purchase, so whatever it costs when the g80 cards premiere is what ill charge, minus 30%

Absolutely astounding! It's unfortunate that I will not have the resources to play such a game.

I just got done changing my underwear but it kept going so I need to go clean up my floor and change again. Seriously, that's just an ungodly level of holy shit. I've already got about $500 saved up so I plan to make myself an amazing next gen rig sometime in 07 or 08.

You'd better sell a bunch more of your fluids...you're going to need more than 500.00!

Just don't get first-gen graphics cards of a new DX, they tend to be shitty/buggy :$ (see GeforceFX).

This might be true in specific cases, but in the case of the GeforceFX launch, there was a perfectly viable alternative from Ati that was "first-gen" in the 9500/9600/9700 series.

Nvidia can't afford another mistake like the FX, it cost them a huge amount of market share to Ati and since then they have been more or less on the ball with the 6xxx and 7xxx chips.

I don't think we'll see anything less than breathtaking performance from the new dx10 chipsets from Nvidia and Ati. The real question will be if these new cards are worth the higher price point they will be introduced at. I'm waiting to see dx9 and older performance #s before deciding whether or not to buy.

yeah but the gfx are awesome, easily 1 of the prettiest upcoming games of 2007.

but it's more about the how well the engine handles DETAILED, LARGE, DENSE, DESTRUCTIBLE, OUTDOOR, environments that are also VERY INTERACTIVE like plants/vegetation moving and shit when you brush up against em etc.
