Offline content required for FF?
Hi there, new to the forum and all that. Also new to HL2 and the modding scene. I haven't touched steam and crap around it since a while before HL2 was released and I have no clue how things works now days, but recently a friend showed me this mod and new hope came to me.
So basically, withouth appearing too noobish, what is required to play FF or even better other "third party" mods. Is FF just a HL2DM mod or do i need the massive single player version of HL2 aswell? It would be very neet if i just could snatch HL2DM through steam and start fooling around with mods online and finally FF when released! Thanks in advance! /mackiz |

We've heard from a dev member that FF will run fine if you have HL2DM installed on Steam on your machine.

Because they want to play DM but not play HL2. You can buy DM without getting HL2 but you get HL2DM with HL2 no matter what.

We think FF will run fine with HL2 DM, but I'm not guaranteeing anything. Valve hasn't been forthcoming on the issue and nobody seems able to give a definitive answer.
Friedbunny was able to join a FF game using HL2DM, but that was before we switched over to using the new engine tech (Source SDK Base). I'm not sure who has access to this. The only guaranteed way to get FF working is to buy HL2, but obviously someone will be able to update this in future when we know for sure. |

You would think SOMEBODY on the team would be curious/not poor enough to spend 10 bucks to start a new account and find out. It does effect a lot of people.

i really dont think this is high on their concern list at the moment. if its jsut a matter of testing it, it can wait until they are closer to release.

I'm pretty sure we were on AppId 215 when FriedBunny played that one night, and not the old 220. In fact, I think that's the only way he was able to play (because we were using 215).
