Had someone in an irc chan last night paste this:

Dunno where he got it from himself (i suspect he himself copied and pasted from another channel)

Not official pics of course, but a shame the Fortress Forever name was used in the same sentence. At least others weren't fooled by the pics (and the intimation they were official ones)

Sorry has it changed?, i cant see fortress-forever mentioned anywhere on that page . If he is mapping unofficially for the mod it should be encouraged as any mod needs independant mappers.

If this is the case he should make it clear.

Nah, rebo. Just the guy must've said it was Fortress Forever when he pasted his link (which made it seem an 'Official' map) - even though it's not listed in your initial map list

I second that. It looks like one of those tutorial maps you make when you're first starting to use Hammer. Not saying that I can make one much better (as I'm not a mapper), but still. Ug-ly.

I think if he's mapping for FF, he should make better maps.

Not that the layout is bad, it just needs texture tweaking...and the skybox is...ick.

Its a nice attempt, but the lighting is horrible and all the visible seams on the sky and rock face, especially where the bridge joins the cliff, are an eye-sore.

but hey at least he's trying! the more people trying to learn the more awsome custom maps there will be! TFC was built on custom maps, we play more custom then we do valve in leagues! thats why im trying not to give up on my first map which ive been working on for ever

i spent like 2 weeks on a respawn lol...

I agree, calm down on the insulting him. My guess is all the non mappers here could not create anything better than that, or even know how to make displacement terrain .So his first try is better than yours :P

The point is the way he spoke implied they were official FF pics, tarnishing if you will, the quality so far of the FF media. I dont think groovyf is bashing the mappers efforts, just that he shouldnt imply that they are FF media because that drags down the name.
