I doubt my laptop could even run HL2 i havent bought it yet and i cant really upgrade.... so i might have to purchase new gaming desktop

anyone think my laptop has a chance of funning HL2 smoothly?

The game will run smoothly, but it depends on whether you're willing to turn down the graphics far enough. Since you're playing on a fixed resolution, you'll have to turn down all the effects if it's running slowly. :/

Wow even my 33mhz 386 DX beats that, with its ultra-cool 8meg graphics card too. Runs software mode like a beast
