Only 3 european servers, and the only one that works has the highest ping.
 

There are only 3 European servers. I live in the netherlands
The first gives me about 25 ping, which is the ff pickup EU quakenet public server. However, it's 1: On a surf map.
2: The autodownload doesn't work ,and I can't find the map on the internet so I can't join.
The second server is the anitalink fortress forever server.(around 60 ping)
However, when I join this one it says the server has different class tables and than tells me it's running in a different version.

The last one is the only one that works, Fortress forever maximgroup.ro max community, which gives me 80 ping(all pings from the server browser, which aren't always accurate), which is alright, but kinda disappoints me :(, and ususally the ping on empty servers is sligtly lower compared to when it's full.

I was about to idle in a EU server in hope of people joining, which worked a pretty long time ago in the past, but what's up with 2 EU servers hosted that are both..unplayable? Why pay for a server no one can play on? :(

Also, idling doesn't really want to cooperate with me. The game crashes with alt tabs waaaaaaaayy too frequently, or only shows a black screen when you alt tab, the same goes for window mode. :(, how can I check if somone joined if the game doesn't want to co operate with me? >.<.

I wonder if there's any way I can contact those server owners? this problem has been going on for a while now. And even when the anitalink server worked, it wasn't updated to the latest version.
When my TF2 server isn't under maintanance anymore and when I get it back(pobably in a few days), I miight be able to get another server for FF.
I have a friend that owns a server hosting company, so I got a TF2 server from him for free(Yeah, Tf2 is my favourte game, next to ace attorney, don't judge xD). he said he might want another TF2 server for like, a mod , but I think I have a better idea: A fortress forever server. It would hosted in france.(If he's okay with it ofcourse, I'm not sure if I can get my friends interested in FF, but I'll try :P)

Did you really read his post? Doesn't sound like what he's referring to.

The first server runs custom maps but doesn't have auto DL properly set up. The EU pickup server. I'm not sure but I think Mnzy or Ze may have FTP to that server and could set up the auto DL. Or at least one of them would probly know who to talk to.

In reference to the anitalink server, the class tables and version are out of date. I really don't know about that one. It's been around forever and I don't think I've ever really seen anyone play on it.

As far as filling goes. There aren't really a lot of euros that play this game often. Some come and go now and then. But they usually find the game in the same state as you, and either suffer high pings or don't stick around very long. But maybe if you stick around for a while you could round them up as they pop in. You should try to get a group of friends into the game to help you fill servers. There are definitely a lot of euros who enjoy this game and want to play, but they are hidden like ninjas.

With regards to the anitalink server, that just means their server is not up-to-date and your client is.

Damn, the server that gave me 75-90 ping yesterday gives me 100-120 now :(. I was only able to play this game without lag a few times, and I barely played this game because of the low playercount anyways :/. It's a shame because it was really fun.

Anitalink's server is about 5 billion years old and always has been miles out of date.

Hell, it doesn't even have any gametype HUDs...

I find it strange that somone is still paying for that server, even tough it's always been outdated.. 0.o

It could very well be a dedicated server they are not paying for.

Since this topic is like, still here, we need a European server. I can try setting up a fairly powerful one in Iceland and run it for free. It would just be a basic public server. Mainland Europe generally pings 40 to 70 to Iceland, from what I've seen.

There's a new EU sever. Obsession UK. I think it's the bees knees.
