Source SDK Updated

From halflife2.net

Quote:
Mod-makers and map-builders rejoice! A new version of the Source SDK has been released! In this update are some additions that have not been seen and some that have been in the public beta. Valveā€™s High-Dynamic Range rendering technology is now available to all mappers.

New SDK Features

* High Dynamic Range lighting now supported in the tools
* Day of Defeat: Source support now included

New Hammer Editor Features

* VGUI Model browser with real-time 3D view
* Map autosave/backup
* Model and displacement rendering in 2D views
* Many other small improvements and bug fixes

To see all the changes in this update, check out the Source SDK Changelist over at the Valve Developer Wiki.
Hopefully, this will solve all of your mapping / SDK problems.

Right everyone. Back to work!!

V.

Not sure, but if you look at the bug fixes there are a lot of "crash" situation fixes which will make a big difference.

I think the point is that DoD has support now.

I'm gonna go fiddle around.

I'm pretty awesome at computers, just Hammer has been on the blink for a few months now >_<. When I have time I'm going to format my PC and hope everything clears up.

The entire site went down this morning, and then when it finally came back all changes made to the forums since the 18th were deleted, including my signature, and my hella long post of ff_canyon. Eh well.

it's actually working properly again for me as far as I can tell. maybe I'll get off my butt and work on ramparts again sometime soon.

valve needs to stop screwing with everything like this, it's very frustrating.

I have 2.5gb of ram, I leave Hammer on in the background all the time when I'm mapping regularly- including when I'm ripping dvds, playing other video games, etc...
